G'day all.

This was a lot of work, but I reckon it was worth it. Not the best image for detail but I nipped the image scale problem in the bud I get with my setup. I am appeased!

Details: 4 lots of 42 images @ 20 sec expsure with ID settings.

Ran all four subs thru registax 3 using no waveletts. Stacked only.

Pulled all 4 finals into imerge & merged.

Back into registax with the 1 saved final; Went into the wavelett filter section, modified the center filter to read 5000 rather than 50. Hit the image with maximum waveletts on all 6 sliders. Contrast/3 point gamma/blah blah alterations.

Into Picture Publisher & cropped/resized/saturation/unsharpmask/etc.

Into neatimage & killed off some noise/grain & sharpened.

The original sized image before taking it into neatimage & Pic. Publisher I'll add to this thread too.

Modded 900nc/5.5" schmidt newt.

Excellent work Asi!

Say, another one or two mosaics just like that one but shorter exposure time and HDR process them all together and you could show some of those expensive cameras a thing or 2!;)

Amazing result John, stunning image from you and the toucam.
I take my hat off to you buddy, you certainly squeeze out every last ounce of detail from the camera.
Look at the colour and detail, wow.

Hey Asi, did the solar system become too small a backyard for you to play in?:P

You know if someone had told me that they could get a shot of a deep sky object of this quality with a webcam I would have laughed in their face... you should submit this for a David Malin award:thumbsup:

Hi guys & thanks for all your positive comments.

I must admit, I never thought it possible to get this kind of image from a mere webcam so I must take my hat off to the 900nc.

I think it can do better yet though.

John,

That is really quite something.

In fact, it's even better than some DSLR shots of this magnificent object.

You should engage in a davepretorius-approved strut.

Humayun

You must be stoked.
