I have had a play with this recently at my weekend place recording an SQM of 20.92 which I believe is pretty good. ( no street lights for 25 km) Once measured you can then submit into the cloud for someone presumably to pick up and analyse.

Just for larks on admiring the "Super" moon in Sydney I took another measurement (through a reasonable sized gap in clouds) and recorded 17.95

Checking t'interweb I came across this article which lines up with what was measured quite well.

Neat little app. Also has results from other users as well.

Clear ( and less bright) skies..

That's a nice app David. I tried it a few days ago (4 Jan) and the app gave SQM of 16.72 for my usual imaging location. It was quite cloudy though so I would like to try again when we get a clear(ish) night.

EDIT: it is fairly dark tonight and the app gave SQM of 17.5

Thanks for the article. It made for a good read to help understand my sqm-l meter better. I get 20.04 as the best in my backyard in the burbs of adelaide which sounds like not a bad sky in the scale they present. Nothing beats a good dark sky though.
