Troy beat me to it, but er...the weather interfered with many of us! So I formally open the season, pending weather issues.

I'll always love this target, and will look forward to extracting more wuverly mistiness in the near future. Really pleased with the performance and resolution of the camera. As it was just a test, no darks or biases were used.

Not bad from mid Victoria Simon, very pretty  looks like that camera is a modern marvel!

I have never photographed or imaged this cluster, in 35 years of snapping the sky, so it's top of my list when I eventually get my FSQ106EDX4 soon to use with my currently dormant PL16803 :D

Nice job

Ooh nice new combo Mike. Hmm, can i plead for you aim your big 'un at an interesting part of the reflection neb and give it a whirl? Never know what it might reveal

In my one year of snapping the sky I haven't done it either ;) Hopefully make it this season if the Melbourne skies play nice.

In my one night of testing I have concluded that darks are an absolute must. I can probably get away without flats personally as I only gave 2% vignetting at frame edge which is neglegable to say the least :)

Look forward to what you can do with a bit more data, Simon. I once did a shortish M45 with my FSQ but this time of year is not great for imagers up here without an obsy. There are some clear skies but they are interspersed with a lot of cloud and thunderstorms :mad2:
