View Full Version here: : New purchases
My credit card/bank balance has been breathing a sigh of relief lately while I've been taking it easy on the spending front.
I thought it was time I reasserted myself and showed those pesky bits of plastic they exist soley for my amusement:lol:
In the last week I've added a Telrad and Starlight Instruments Feathertouch 1:10 focuser to my 9.25.
I feel "normal" again.
Thanks!!!

Nice....:) so where's the obligatory pic :shrug: {and a report of the U2 concert for cranky WA fans}
Sorry Stu
Will get some pics up ASAP. Very ordinary behaviour on my part:lol:
As for U2?
Well... there's really nothing more I can say than it was more of an "experience" than a concert.
Standing out in the middle of Aussie Stadium with more than 80,000 die-hard U2/rock fans was just amazing.
The guys played for more than 2 hours and to all of our delight included plenty of older toons like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" "New Years Day" and "Pride... in the Name of Love" along with their more recent stuff.
They performed with the sort of enthusiasm and energy like it was their first big gig. A sign of true professionalism and humility.
Not too preachy or political... but got a few meaningful messages across.
2 encores. Wild light/video show
Bloody awesome!!!!!!!

:D Np...instead of using the adhesive on the Telrad mounting plate see if your 9.25 has mounting screw placements that you can use to attach the plate, thats what i do on my SCT
Great to hear the concert was a pearler, I wish I could've have been there , to hear their 80's catalog live would be magic :) :)
There are some of those around the rear casing but not along the length of the OTA.
That would mean you'd only be able to secure it at the sight (collimation) end of the finder to the OTA with just one screw?

Yep Matt thats right, the one screw holds the telrad and base securely IMO. No potential tube paint decor damage and i can detach it when i have the OTA in the scope case
Here you go Stu
A couple of pix of the new 10:1 Starlight Feathertouch fitted to my little 9.25 beasty.
It's a very nice improvement on the original rubber focusing knob.
Bought second-hand on Astromart. In mint condition but saved about $100:)

Looks nice! great purchase.
Thanks Mike
Has a really nice feel to the mechanism and is a really sturdy little unit.
Very well machined and easy to install.
Now, let's hope it stays clear tonight so I can check its performance.
I'm really looking forward to having that super-fine 10:1 ratio focusing:thumbsup:
