Salvaged this from the wreck! Captured all night in BW instead of colour:doh:but I was pushing my exposures more during capture to give myself some more to play with in processing.

I had planned to do a HDR image so captured at 10sec, 5 sec and 2.5 sec exposures, through the C8 at f/6.3, unguided. Captured with K3ccdtools, ToUcam and UV/IR filter.

Stacked them in R4, expanded image during stacking, saved both waveletted version and without wavelets.

PS CS2 won't touch HDR images unless they are same size.:mad2: Have to do that again!

And when I do a darkframe subtraction in R4, and save the unwaveletted stack, the image looks great in R4 till I save it then is full of psychadelic noise when I open the file later???? I've ask about this problem before... I'll ask again in case someone has any ideas.

Thanks,

PS. this is a stack of 28 out of 41 images, 5 sec exposure, saturation 100%, gamma 80%, brightness 75%, gain about 30%, 8 point MAP autopick, darkframe subtracted, wavelets = 5.8,2.4,1.1,1.7,1.1,2.4 Gaussian Linear in R4. Shadows and highlights, quickmask/dust and scratches around the outside and save for the web in PS CS2.

Not as grainy as it started out Ving! The centre didn't look too bad to me so I just applied dust and scratches filter round the outside to subdue some of the noise. The ToUcam does get noisy when pushed hard. I was hoping I would get enough frames to smooth it out, but I'm still learning and experimenting...

It's not bad for 5 sec exposure is it? I go a 10 second exposure to play with yet;) . It is noisy, but hey, I'm really just exploring!
