Hi,
I'm in the market for an H alpha filter but want advice on whether to get 6Nm or 12 Nm bandpass. I intend using it with my GSTAR EX2 camera which has a very high sensitivity and image accumulation.

6nm will give greater contrast than 12nm... that's about as much input a source I can give

Thanks for your comment Colin. :thanx: It seems that no-one else wants to comment. Although better contrast may be an advantage, I'll probably let my wallet do the talking. The 12nm is $100 cheaper, and at my level of expertise in astrophotography, will probably serve my purposes adequately. :D

Further reading suggests I should opt for the 6nm filter. :D

Or you could get a 7nm baader which is usually well priced

I use the Baader Narrowband filters, good value and performance. Check out the three filter sets at Teleskop-Express.
