M42 Red channel

Hello again all.

This string of clear nights has been good.

Started on Orion Nebula.

Tried 2 minute subs at unity gain with ASI1600MM cooled to -20.

This is red channel, about 4 hours with a CLS filter.
450mm focal length,.

Stretched to all buggery. Amazing how much detail is there...

Yes, the core is blown. Going to do something about that tonight. maybe 30sec subs.

The outer extensions are showing up nicely, some shirt subs will tone down the core :)

Thanks Colin. Looks like the weather is going to hold out just enough to achieve that tonight.

What type of shirt do you think I should use?! :lol: (I know you meant short...).
