Kate's gone out for the night, Eliza and Abbey are already in bed and Jacob will be off to bed soon..

A night to myself!

Skies are clear, but i'm going out observing tomorrow night and there's nothing in the sky (solar system) to image tonight..

Might watch a DVD.. band of brothers maybe? Haven't watched that in ages.. bought the DVD set after it was on TV but haven't watched it yet.

Star Wars Episode 3?? I watched ep2 again with Jacob last weekend and he wants to watch ep3, so I might have to wait for him for that..

Read a book? Sit on the internet? :)

hmm dilemmas! :P

hmm yes it is! I was going to watch that, but just checked the guide and found that "The Dish" is on Ch10 at 8:30!

A shot with astronomy content! Even better for a night of slothing on the lounge in front of the TV :)

No junk food.. hmm that's my new dilemma!

I have this cool DVD that uses Hubble shots of various objects but an artist makes it so you feel you are travelling thru space.. stars move in the forground against a backdrop of a spiral galaxy for example so you really feel you are there.. I cant bring myself to determine the speeds we would be travelling but although this presents as very slow moving even such slow movement would translate to speeds near c..maybe even above c.. there is no narration just music similar to that you would hear on meditation and relaxing tapes. great for sitting back and marvelling at some of the objects out there.

I should check the speeds but I lent it to my father but you can pass by a galaxy in a matter of a minute so that is mmmm round 150 billion light years in a minute not realistic from that view point but so nice to look at.

The beauty of unstructured time. Simply "being" instead of always "doing".

Enjoy it Mike

Cheers

I usually put the feet up and put on some music DVD's. HRH does not approve of loud music so I make the most of those moments when home alone...

I too am batching at the moment - 'til Monday noon at any rate. The trouble is that after feeding the cats, doing the washing, organising and eating my meal, making the bed, doing the vacuuming and dusting and cleaning, whilst trying to make a couple of quid - all between trying to chat up every woman in the street (nay, the town) I'm too pooped to drag out the 'scope.

Maybe tonight . . . or not.
