i was having a look at some astrophotos when i came across this site, the details captured in some (all) of the images on this site are unreal.
i havent seen these cameras mentioned before but im guessing they would cost you an arm leg and kidney going by the images produced.

Nice cameras there and pics. I found a page not long ago with these cameras advertised.. 4500 BP, $10000 Au?. I might have to sell the car! but the wife won`t let me...:P.
When my poor canon dies maybe I can afford a real ccd camera!!!

There are plenty of others out there, SBIG (http://www.sbig.com) is perhaps the most common and do have the edge on their dual chip design (imaging & guiding), but this doesn't always suit everyone. Many prefer guide scopes with separate guiders. No such thing as one model suits everyone these days. Many flavours and colors to choose from:D :

Finger Lakes Instruments - http://www.fli-cam.com/
Apogee - http://www.ccd.com/
Theta Systems - http://www.theta-system.com/sis.html
Fair Child Imaging - http://www.fairchildimaging.com/products/cameras/scientific/
Star Light Express - http://www.starlight-xpress.co.uk/products.htm
Lumenera - http://www.lumenera.com/astro/index.php - If you are serious about imaging the planets, you will not find a better imaging system on the market today. I think this is what Damian Peach (http://www.damianpeach.com/) uses.

The list could go on... I've even forgotten about the good ol' cookbook CCD (http://www.wvi.com/~rberry/cookbook/cookbook.htm) camera (sadly now obsolete)...:(

I've been hearing the call of the Lumenera SKYnyx 2-1 for a few weeks now and am not sure I can resist any longer!

I wish people would stop posting links to the Lumenera website:rofl:
