NGC 253 is now rapidly headed toward the western sky, hence I'm not sure
how much more data I can add to this year's rendition...which is OK...

But I'd like to clean up the noise a tad...plus some other minor quibbles.

That said...colour seems about right...I think the faint fuzzies in the background also give the field some nice depth.

Hi Peter,
exceptional image.
Well done.

That is very nice Peter! If you just keep in imaging it year on year you'll end up with a bucket load of data in a few years :P

Very sharp and detailed (and well processed) dust lanes in the main galaxy.

Great work there Peter. Excellent rendition and something for others to aim towards.

Thanks guys.

I have found PixInsight's DBE tool to be an absolutely essential processing step of late...gradients are a constant thorn in the side for urban astro-imagers such as yours truly..

PI's DBE tool allows me to now set the background a tad above jet-black to reveal many faint structures (including a satellite trail that SD rejection clearly missed) that add a little "sparkle" and interest to the background.

A very tasteful rendition Peter and excellent colour

excellent resolution and extremely sharp processing on the stars and dust lanes.

FWIW, the colour looks to have a slight magenta cast to me - but I am not very good with colour perception, so take that as an observation of limited value.

I think you are correct about the colour.....it's something I'll certainly look at if/when I can get some more data to subdue the noise.

Nice shot Peter...more data needed, colour noise a bit distracting but I'd be more concerned about the shape of the stars?not quite round from what I'm seeing(bad seeing effecting guiding?)and colour fringing on stars.

Still, nice shot and after all who am I to say, don't you think?:)

Have to say the luminance stars were spot on, but sadly agree the colour data was very thin in seeing that could only be described as ordinary..particularly the red channel. More data will fix these transgressions...but as usual the Moon and weather are making that a challenge.
