Helix nebula with an RC8 and a QHY8. 20 min subs x 22 (shot over a couple of sessions). Full size available on Astrobin (http://www.astrobin.com/full/267025/0/).

I found it hard, even with over 7 hours of data, to get much of the outer shells without over pushing the processing and getting a lot of noise. Though using a one-shot colour camera in the suburbs probably doesn't help! Still, I was happy to get a bit more detail in the inner bits (forgive the technical term!) than I've managed previously when using less data.

Thanks for looking.

Some nice detail in that Paul, and a beautiful contrast.
Nicely done.

That does look pretty good Paul, especially for any suburbs!

Nicely done mate, not too much noise reduction evident! :P:D:)

Looks great, Paul! You've done well with the faint stuff. The outer shells need long integrations with a Ha filter.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks guys.

Bart, I could hear your disembodied voice as I applied the noise reduction doing your best Obi-Wan Kenobi impression: "Use less force, Duck". :)

blimey, that's a good result for a QHY8 - nice result for any camera come to think of it.
