Various Cheap OTA's

G'day Everyone

For sale are the following:

Skywatcher 10" Newtonian - SOLD
Well used SW 10" Newt, in original box metallic blue colour. Has previously been used for video observing, will need an extension tube to get to focus for visual observing. In average condition, but great for a tinkering or someone wanting to try a larger OTA. Will probably need collimating too. Comes with rings, but no dovetail. Would prefer local pick up first, firm $200 (+postage if I decide to post).

Achro 5" Refractor
Well used 5" achro refractor in average condition, some minor marks on objective but still works great. I have been using this as solar scope with an Herschel Wedgeand it is has been great. Comes with rings, but no dovetail. No actual packing box, so would prefer local pick up first - firm $200 (+postage if I decide to post).

Achro 6" f/8 Refractor - SOLD
Well used 6" achro refractor in average condition, but I have had some great images of planets with this on my previous eq6. Comes with rings, but no dovetail. No actual packing box, so would prefer local pick up first - firm $300 (+postage if I decide to post).

Any of these would be great for beginners or someone with aperture fever, but doesn't want to break the bank!

Ok managed to get pics up a little earlier than thought although iPad will only let me post one at a time to the thread.

Please note that this is not a Black Diamond! It probably was an SW at some point which has been painted.

Here is an image of the objective with hood and cap removed.

Please note that objective is in a fair condition and could probably do with a clean, up to you. But please don't expect pristine condition at this price!

That said I have had some fine visual observing and planet imaging with it.

It does not come with hood cap, but has a hood.

I think it may be a Saxon OTA, but not sure.

Here is the image of the objective with hood removed.

Like the 6" the objective is in fair condition, up to you if you want to clean. It has some little marks from when the last owner posted to me and the plastic bubble wrap pressed on the glass. But does not seem to affect the images. I don't have a 1.25" adaptor on the back so is just 2", but if you really need an adaptor they can be bought very cheap.

I have used this predominantly as my solar scope with a Herschel Wedge and it has been great!

Here are the images for the SW 10" Newtonian.

Comes in original packing box.

Mirror a little dirty, but can be easily cleaned. See tutorial on ISS on how to do it.

Please note: No dovetail included, but includes rings.

For those interested in getting a quote for postage for the Newtonian through online calculator, here are the approx dimensions for the packaged Newtonian:

50cm x 50cm x 130cm - 22kg

I got a quote for someone in Melbourne through Pack and Send online and it was as follows:

Road Standard $57.99
Road Priority $62.96
Priority Express $180.53 to $185.53

So if your interested get an online quote and see if it is viable for you. Please note that this cannot be posted through Auspost as it is too big and heavy.
