Meade 12-inch LX200 Classic OTA $1500 ONO

This is the OTA only. No other accessories are included other than the Meade soft carrying case.

There are two small spots of mould on the inside of the corrector plate (see photo). There are also two small water spots on the primary mirror.
Due to size and weight, would prefer pick-up in South-East Queensland. (Could deliver/meet within 3 hours of Ipswich.)

Just a question about the mould....won't it just wipe off???

If I may be permitted to interject on the thread.

Yes it does just wipe off, but if they are inside you have to remove the corrector plate, and anyone doing this must take care. Have the scope sitting on a solid base so the plate is horizontal facing up, and as the plate is "slowly" removed take note of any alignment shims.

These are small flat pieces designed to keep the plate in the same plane as the primary mirror. You see them by peeking under the edge, mark their exact position and put the same ones back in the same positions. It's not as scary as it sounds, just take your time. :)

The mold is on the inside and I am scared to try and do it myself.

The corrector maybe somewhat stuck to the shims and tube. When removing you may need to add some slight pressure to pop this. Rule is do not use anything metal like a knife. Using a plastic credit card corner and working slowly around the edge should free it.
