on Earth it takes an atmosphere to form such wind patterns. and the beginning is a funnel which spreads and spreads.

In our universe it takes a black hole to form such typhoon-like patterns with the stuff around the hole.

or what?

why do spiral galaxies become spiral ones? is it because of the ever present black hole?
and without the black hole there'd be no collection of stars at all but all would just float happily without forming connections?
