Thanks Terry.
Thanks Mike,
Yes, the BRC is at Savannah Skies in a 2.3 M Sirius Dome.
SS is the ultimate man cave indeed.....I feel completely rebooted after a trip out there - there is no other human presence - just the wildlife/birds for company.
Yes, it get's hot in the daytime in the summer months, but it is a dry heat and it is always gorgeous at night. The site office/accommodation donga - shipping container is very well air conditioned with a split system. We have a little kitchenette, big flat screen TV, satellite that brings in 80 channels, blu-ray player and expresso machine! Oh, and a hot shower.
I only have two of the domes at SS, my colleague Joe has the rest of the facility. There is plenty of solar power, but we have an auto-start diesel backup generator that kicks in if the air con runs the battery bank down - usually only needed if someone is there running air con for a few days in a row.

Tim

Hi Mike,
I get out there for a weekend about once a month during the dry season from March to December and and every few months in the wet season between December and March.
I sometimes go out there in a holiday break for 5 to 6 nights mid year.
80 to 90% of the nights are clear between the end of March to the beginning of December. From the end of December to the beginning of March only an occasional scattering of clear nights occur.
Cheers,
Tim

Well 8 months of clear weather, that sounds pretty good  I imagine the skies must be black in the dry of mid winter, how's the seeing?

Hi Mike,
Very dark skies, yes. Seeing is always hard to objectively assess, I think, but we usually get FWHM's around 2 to 2.6, sometimes a bit less.
What do you get re seeing at your site/s....?
Cheers,
Tim

Great detail Tim and overall a very impressive image.
The colour seems maybe a little bit saturated for my taste - but your approach looks convincing and brings out the star formation regions very clearly, so don't take any notice of that comment .

Both good, but the Ha version has the better contrast and looks stunning.
Well done.
