 Hi, I thought I should finally post something instead of just sitting on the side lines. I took NGC55 a couple of weeks ago with my new QHY8 CCD camera. There are 20x4min exposures, thru a 18" Newt with coma corrector, no darks or flats but there was a lot of vignetting.

 Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy with the camera. It's basically the equivalent of a modified Nikon D50 with a cooling system . Infact QHY dismantle new D50s to build these cameras. The Sony chip seems to have quite a few permanent hotpixels but very low background noise. The Fuji S2Pro camera I have been using only had 3 or 4 permanent hotpixels, with the hot weather of summer the QHY8 should have an advantage. After placing the order I received the camera in 6 days from China!!! The price was about $1900AUD with optional filter and carry box.
