Does it get any better?

Currently up in Hay, shutter release in one hand and a 10x50 bino in the other. Taking a 10x10 panel mosaic of the Milky Way and surfing the skies while the camera takes the 60s exposures. Lagoon and Big Foot fit nicely in 10x although 12x may be a tad more pleasing. All I need now is a bottle of bubbly and I'm set! Will just have to settle with mosquitoes, bananas and Sakata's :P

I'm not an Aussie bloke, not a beer man I'm afraid. It isn't quite as nice as I wanted initially. It is a far cry from my initial plans of a 15x15 with 120s exposures. That's my next year plan, gotta thing BIG.

No plans to go to Bunnings tomorrow so no snags but this little Pom is imaging galaxies at his dark site for the first time and is finally on a roll. Fueled by Kosciuszko pale ale and a bottle of hunter valley red.

Astroimaging = gin and tonic. Releaves the monotony and usually blissfully asleep until the warning alarm goes off (tracking into building fov lol).

But chsmpagne? Errrrr.... I hope you aren't one of those French types (not that there is not much wrong with that eh Marc.... ;) )

The computer has just finished calibrating 100 lights, 20 flats, 20 bias and 60 darks. 25GB later I need my external HD as backup. 10x10 panel mosaic with a 10-15% overlap. They certainly aren't as deep as my last attempt, even through the fog! The difference between 60&120s is evident. Keeping it at 60s did allow me to start imaging at 35° and finish at 31° above the horizon.

I can make it look like I'm drinking a beer with a few bottles of cider :P Having a dark site in Heathcote I have developed a bit of a "sweet spot" for Shiraz.

I nabbed a few wide field shots on Fri night at Heyfield, Vic, very dark spot!

Felt so refreshing and easy to see nice results after... 8 seconds???? No guiding, no PC, no setup virtually!

A few of us enjoy a port or whiskey, or red. Beer is a last resort, though if icy cold I may consume if demanded :)

But I have a strict rule, never drink before PA alignment and setup good! Troubleshooting whole tipsy not enjoyable
