My first NB with a decent amount of data, I was pretty excited when I saw what it looked like in colour. Not sure yet if I'm gonna stick with this colour combination. Only processing was TGV denoise, MMT, colour combination and curves. I will have a go at very light deconvoloution soon. I wasn't going to do decon because the stars aren't round, but after seeing the amazing 3d looking sections of nebulosity just above the center of the image I'm definitely going to have a go at it.

Overall I'm very happy with it, even if the data could be very much improved. Need to get the Neq6 tracking better over long exposures to get those round stars.

900sec exposures
495mins of Ha
300mins of OIII
300mins of SII

Hi, Tim,

The depth, sharpness, and presentation of the nebulosity is excellent. You've brought out really faint shock fronts far from the spider, without burning out the core. Very well done! The stars don't look at all bad.

Congratulations on a seriously large amount of data, giving a very clean result.

Were you aiming at Hubble palette, in which case a small tweak or two to move away from an overall cyan and magenta impression will get you there, or have you tried to make it look natural colour?

Very best,
Mike and Trish

Thanks :) I was just winging it a bit with the pallete, different combinations brought out contrast and that "3D" look in different parts of the image. Hubble pallete made the tarantula itself have nice depth but the outer nebulosity looked a bit flat, but with this mix it was the opposite.

Nicely done, Tim. I quite like the colour.

I added a new revision with deconvoloution. I got some very nice detail out of the tatantula, but some of the stars are now a little questionable.
