Just wonder if you guys have any good location with at most a bit light pollution for night sky shooting in NSW ?
I am thinking to have a theme like a single rock, a tree or a farm... thanks in advance
I am looking for the same thing. Somewhere within 150km of Sydney, where I can camp with no lights and a good view of the horizon, for visual?
Cheers
Paul

You'll have to go west of the blue mountains for that - to Hartley at least. And no camping.
You might get night sky and a tree at Hargraves lookout or Mt Blackheath, both on Shipley plateau.
You might get the odd rick and sky anywhere along the cliff walk between Sublime Point at Leura and Katoomba but this is a very dangerous place to be in the dark.
Hassans walls at Lithgow has a bit of the "stone pagoda" formations along the cliff top too it again extremely dangerous in the dark.
Only camp spots are at either Euroka camping ground (in the park south of Glenbrook) or at Blackheath.
It is easier to drive home than mess with camping.

shows most parts of NSW have a pich dark sky where we in the EU can only dream of ....
I'm thinking Newness campground, Wollemi national park, but it may be full because of the school holidays.

Newnes yes, would be good and you can camp there but will be full being school holidays. It's a walled valley so the horizons are quite high.
