Nice shot Mick , been trying to get something similar but either weather or bad timing have interfered, what area of sky is in the background ?

Really nice Mick! It's been ages since i've seen any flares or tried to capture them.. you've given me inspiration to check out heavens-above right now.

The ISS can be quite a hit, at an observing night.
We had a high bright pass here on Sat, watched by about 20 people.
Managed to see a little of it with my Dob:)
Has anyone managed to track it with a Go-to :confuse2: , I know it should be possible, but having tried it a couple of times (with the LX-90), I think you need to have a good clear horizion where it rises.

Thanks everyone, I have never tried to track it with my Lx the coordinates change often so you need to download the new coordinates the day of the pass to do any good. That pass had a max alt of only 38deg. I've seen photos of the shuttle chasing the ISS now thats very cool.

You can see some photos of the Mir Space Station and the Space Shuttle that were taken using a 12" LX200 here Satellite Observing (http://www.analemma.de/english/satobs.html) I've seen ISS photos but I can't remember where, they had the same detail.

Ving ... best detail i have seen is a bright elongated silver object with coppery colored projections (solar panels).
We will snag it with the LX-90 I am sure.
