OMG IT'S Chris! Yes. I sadly haven't touched my telescope since I came to the Netherlands. It's cloudy for 95% of the year and heavily light polluted the other 5%. :rain:
That said I still had some data from 2015 that remained unprocessed so I thought I'd show myself here briefly :).
IC4592 - Blue Horsehead Nebula
4h 50min worth. The field of view is way too narrow for my liking, so it looks more like a greyhound. But I wasn't prepared to dismantle and play with my kit so late into astrofest, especially since I was planning on finishing M42 earlier in the morning.
Anywho. Shot with a Meade ED80, QHY10, and beer.

An excellent Blue Horses Nose, Chris. I guess after the light takes 400 years to reach us another year doesn't hurt
Cheers,
Rick.

Looks good Chris, must be pretty big if it doesn't fit in the FOV of an ED80 and QHY10.
Always nice having data laying around to process, something to do on the endless cloudy nights!

it was several beers Chris!!!!- lovely shot, through the bottle
Nicest horse snout I've seen for a while :)
Great to hear from you Chris. Doesn't sound like you're getting a lot of night-time photons, but think you expected as much.

Oh I'd get plenty of photons if I took my telescope out, mostly of the sodium vapour emissions being reflected off clouds type :)
I do miss it a lot.
Yeah Colin it's huge. Here's an APOD Rho Ophiuchi for scale comparison: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1005/rhoregion_andreo_big.jpg It would have been done more justice with a 200mm camera lens.

That's a great shot Chris. You missed another great astrofest this year but we had a commemorative crownie for you. Although cloudy, the beers must be a lot better where you are now. There is balance in the universe.

Good beer? Don't know what you're talking about. Side note, you should switch to Hertog Jan for an Astrofest beer. The ceramic bottle with paper label isn't conductive so you won't end up spilling it everywhere during a static electricity test :)
