hello members
a question about my qhy10, when in the ezcap or nebulosity programmes when the temperature reads 0 deg C, is that the ambient temperature or the temperature of the sensor?
I am worried now of pulling the plug when it reads 0!

Hi Pat,
That temperature reading in EZCAP is the sensor temp, and you should in theory not switch off the camera while it is very cold at -25C. Instead gradually increase the temp in stages until you get back to ambient.
I usually go from -25C to -10C let it settle and then set the temp to 0, let it settle and then set it to +10C before I turn the TEC off within EZCAP.
Just prevents thermal shock that could crack the cover glass on the sensor.
Cheers

I agree with Bill. Sequence Generator Pro allows you to set it to move to whatever temp you want over a time period (go to 10ºC in 5 minutes for instance). MaxIM DL just has a Warmup button.
In EZCAP or Nebulosity you may just have to do it manually.

thanks guys, i suppose it is the same in nebulosity?
the temperature graph in ezcap is very good but i use the nebulosity which does not have the continuous graph just a set temperature dropdown of which i am not sure of it's accuracy really?

Craig Stark is a pretty good bloke and I'm sure he would have tested its accuracy. So you should be OK Pat.

thanks bill, for some reason i deduced incorrectly that 0 was ambient, i will have to be more careful when i unplug from now on
