This image is just 10 x 70 second exposures made with a modified 300D and Sigma 300m f2.8 APO EX HSM lens. Lens was stopped down to f3.5. The image has had basic processing (i.e no sharpening or noise reduction) done.
For other size images (up to 1280 x 852) see:

Hi Terry,
Is that an APO Lens, colour is great, wide field good, but feel your Focus could be a bit sharper, nice picture, sounds like a nice lens at 300mm/F-2.8.

Very nice. The mod really makes a difference to NGC 2070, comparing to others from un-mod cameras. The greater colour balance really shows.

Hi Jim,
There is not much left in the focus (I've try tweaking a little either side) and can't get any better than this. Perhaps I can reduce the coma a little on the right hand lower side. The other point is the Logarithmic scaling used in these images tends to cause stars to be extended and accentuates star aberations, so I have applied a little bit of unsharp mask to counter this somewhat and uploaded new versions to the same links. What do you think?
Further improvements would come from stopping down a little further. At f4.5 stars are pinpoints at the edges except the lower right where there is a faint short tail on some of the brighter stars when viewed at 100%. Also I have heard the Light pollution and Nebula filters also help.

Thats a great image Terry,
the colours look very natural and the detail is spot on.
cheers
