Hi all. This shot taken with my Nikon D4 and a 150mm Sigma lens at Astrofest on my Mach1 mount unguided. 1600ISO f3.2.
36 x 5 min subs processed in Pixinsight. I note I got basically none of the red or orange nebula I see in other photos on the net. Might be the DSLR is not too sensitive to the particular wavelengths?

It is likely to be the low Ha detection on your camera due to the IR filter. Still a very nice clean shot Brett

A nice result, nevertheless.
Well done.

Great Image Brett

Great stuff Brett. Shame just a bit more red didn't show, but as Colin said bound to be IR filtering reducing longer wavelength sensitivity. Still an amazing bit of sky and you've show the dust and other colours remarkably well.
So tight for an unguided image too. Gotta love that Mach 1

Very nice Brett. There usually is an ISO sweetspot for most cameras. For example the Sony A7r2's is ISO640 due to the digital converter having some sort of step in it and the read noise drops there.
So ISO1600 may've been too strong for 5 minutes and you lose some colour. The Ha not showing is more likely a stronger IR block filter than other cameras. I was surprised my A7r2 picked up some Ha in that area and it must have a weak IR block filter. It has no anti aliasing filter and that may also have an affect.
Greg.

Looks good, Brett, but the size limit on IIS doesn't flatter an image with so much small detail. Any chance of a link to a bigger one?
Cheers,
Rick.
