I have been selling and not buying lately so it wasn't me!! I should be getting clear sky points or something ;)

There is no such thing as 'clear sky points'. That's like men getting 'brownie points' from the better half, we are always in debt regardless :P

Sorry folks, most likely my fault! Damn it's frustrating, trying to bed in new gear with virtually no clear skies.

Super Cloud, I like that name. Cloudnado??

What if everyone in the SE Aus promises to not take out any astronomical gear for a week. Will all of the clouds just dissipate until someone breaks that vow?

..And the likelihood of that happening is what ....?? :P

Expect Sydney to be clouded out late sept and the whole of October - I've ordered two triplet APO refractors from APM, due to arrive around then.

Looking at the BOM sat photo this morning, the cloud stretches from Southern Tasmania right up to central Qld,. All seems to come from the continuous stream of moisture coming fom the Indian Ocean northwest WA feeding across the country pushed by the jet stream. Seems it is going to continue, until summer heat or jet stream movement change it.

Two APMs eh? Seems i saw something about this on CN. Another Bino build?

Astro Pete's in Brisbane have a good work around so not to upset the weather gods when buying new gear.
There coffee goes for $1695.00 plus you get a free telescope and mount!
Not sure what the coffee gods think to that but it is a good idea;)

Ha. Yes I saw that pair of binos, but no, I'm a bit one-eyed... Mine are a 70mm quadruplet travelscope, and 130mm triplet for local trips, both photo-visual arubd f/7. APM had discounted the 130mm recently.

Thinking about mounts and eyepieces, too but has to be compact - no room at home for big scopes.

I bought a 120mm frac about 6 weeks ago, and actually got a 10 minute
look at the moon a couple of nights ago.

Hehe while weather in SE oz appears poor, I'm looking at 3rd clear night in a row here in Grasmere, in the heart of the Lake District, and it's enough to make me consider taking the camera out for a few shots of the sky tonight.

That's more clear nights than I've had in the last 4-6 week!
