Marc inspired me to finish off processing my Astrofest images from this year. This is IC1284, often overlooked due to nearby M16, M17, M8, M20 etc.

Very nice, Troy, with a subtle touch on the colour.
I thought you might be saving your AF data for a workshop there next year

That's lovely Troy. A little bit of everything in that field.

Thanks guys. Still trying to figure out a workflow for blending the Ha. To date I've just been using PixelMath and doing a max of Ha and red channel, but I know that is not perfect in terms of luminance and also more red than magenta.
For this image I first made the Ha starless, then still did the max(Ha,R) for the red channel, but also added some starless Ha to the G and B channels to increase lum, then added a touch more to the blue for a slight magenta. Hope that makes sense. It gave the result I was after I think. :)
Would have liked to bring out the blue reflection nebulosity a bit more. Next time...

Very nice Troy, I do like the subtly that you've managed. You have managed to get that slight magenta colour so putting some of the Ha into the blue channel has worked

Nice Jimmy Neutron image Troy. Just needs to be rotated 90 deg CCW.

Good work Troy!

Try using ColorMask to isolate the reflection nebula and give a subtle tweak to Blue, Saturation and Lightness curves. It may help to generate the mask from a RGB combine without any Ha (which will tend to kill the reflection nebulosity.)

Top shot Troy. There isn't that much reflection nebula there from memory anyway..? I recon what you have displayed looks pretty well right to me..? Lovely star field

Nice one Troy. Now, as Peter mentioned, you need to hit it again 90 deg CCW.
