Hi folks, my good friend and Astro-buddy Alistair Sam has settled on a design for some tube rings for our 10 inch newtonians, both carbon fiber and 314mm outside diameter.

So we are searching for good machinists/manufacturers of Aluminium machined parts. Oh, and wondering if such rings can be anodized a deep red to go with my MyT mount :D:D

Feel free to pm me, happy to pay reasonable costs of course.

Thanks

Simon

I have had a number of astro parts both large and small machined by Andrew at Deva Engineering in Bairnsdale Victoria. He does excellent work and has the intelligence to understand what is required in our field.

For anodizing try this company in Blackburn.

Hi Simon

Anodising changes the size a small amount.

I suggest you make certain that the machinist knows that it is to be done.

Might not matter on the parts you get made, but, with some of the things we have had done at work, 0.1mm makes the difference between useful and garbage.
