Rho Ophiuchi widefield

This is 3 x 5minutes and 4 x 10minutes mostly ISO640 (sweet spot ISO for a Sony A7r2). Zeiss 55 1.8 lens at F2.8.

Piggybacked on my AP1600 mount unguided. 3 of the 10minutes subs were high cloud affected but still had something to offer. I plan to add to it next clear imaging night at my observatory.

Processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop cc 2015.5

Not the flattest looking lens Greg(is that normal for a lens?) and some what look like minor reflections but overall the image is quite nice!well done dude.

Very nice Greg, the Sony certainly does a very good job! Is that the Zeiss Otis 55mm?

I'll have to double check and see if this area is fitting in my mosaic.

Its the Sony Zeiss FE 55 1.8. It is rated by DXO Mark just below the very expensive Otus.

Nice framing and colour Greg. For my monitor, the contrast is a little too high and some mottling in the lower centre to RHS of the image in the 'original' size frame; but a lovely result overall!

Thanks for that critique. I am just got a new computer and looked at it on a monitor and yes I agree it looks a bit harsh. Time to adjust it. Different computers and their displays make processing difficult.

Thanks Suavi. Colours out of the camera are quite good to start with. A bit of tweaking of the white colour balance helps as well.

There's so much packed into that. Had lots of fun comparing with the map, finding Saturn, Mars, Antares, M4, M80, rho of course, and even working out when you took it.

Perhaps just a tad harsh looking Greg but wow lots to like still and I am sure a longer exposure with no high cloud will produce a purler :thumbsup:...damn, I need to get a good lens for my Nikon :question:

Yes it is a tad harsh. Been meaning to adjust it. It was done on a laptop which is not the best for processing. I have since gotten a high powered desk top and will adjust it shortly. I did try to take more but cloud cut that idea short.

I am putting together a rig for more flexible mounting of my camera piggybacked so framing is not one fixed view only.

Hey, still a good shot mate and yes processing on lappies is never a good idea. New high powered desk top huh? Ooooh niiice. I'm about to upgrade soon too, been working on a David Hough built 2008 Core two duo running Windows Vista home premium and freebie copy of PS CS3+ (and Outlook 2003 :whistle:) for long enough now :P...my Samsung screen is a keeper though :D
