I will make this very EXPLICIT - this is not a fully operating device...
For sale is what I have been using as a guide camera for the last 2 years, the Atik 314L. Full details here https://www.optcorp.com/atik-314l-ccd-camera-sony-icx285al-monochrome-sensor.html
As a guide camera (or even an imaging camera, as was its original purpose) it is perfect. Never been wanting for a guide star, even through an OAG at 1150mm. It is super sensitive.
There is a problem with it though.
It will no longer connect to any software. The computer will recognise it as a camera etc, but Nebulosity, for example, will not connect.
I strongly suspect that due to a large build up of dust, fluff and other material on the PCB, (which has been cleaned out by myself with compressed air and isopropyl alcohol) there is some corrosion somewhere on the PCB. This was the similar fate of my 11000 atik camera, but it was repaired with a new PCB.
I am still waiting on repair quotes from Atik in the UK, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is anywhere around $200-$400 to repair - THIS IS NOT THE SALE PRICE (Just to be clear).
So, taking this potential cost into consideration, I propose for someone who has the patience (I have run out), time and the $$$, or the technical knowledge of PCBs and circuitry (which I do not) to get it fixed, you can take this camera off my hands for a token amount of $200. So if the repair cost is around what I suspect it to be, you can have a working $2000 camera for about $500.
IF the camera cannot be repaired, I guarantee to refund your $200 once you send the camera back to me. (But hopefully, that will not be the case...)
So just to be explicitly clear, the broken 314L camera for $200 (plus postage app $20 from past items sent). You fix it. If it can't be fixed, send it back to me and I will refund your $200. Then I guess I have a very pretty paper weight
Please text on 0422 690 380 or PM if interested.
Cheers,
Scott
