Sorry posted in wrong forum. Please move to software...g

Hi,

after having 2 computers destroyed by the latest Windows 10 update (both had corrupted password files and would no longer accept passwords to log in - the only solution being a re-set of windows, which I could not do since I had downloaded the Windows install files....). I've decided to go to Linux - had a gut full of Windows....

I can control everything with Indi Lib, however I'm unsure of what I can use for image processing. Pixinsight is a little too pricey for me at the moment. Are there any other good options?

cheers
Gary

Startools runs on linux. I think it costs about $60 but there is a trial version.

Siril is meant to be Iris for Linux (sirI-L). It is an astronomical image processing tool, able to convert, pre-process images, help aligning them automatically or manually, stack them and enhance final images. Free.

I use Pixinsight on Linux and can confirm that it works brilliantly (if you change your mind). A camera control system using INDI is also under development for Pixinsight so will soon become a "one-stop-shop".
