Attached is a Ha only helix nebula from the past two days. 150min of data in total in 1200 & 600s subs.
GSO RC14 @ 2850mm FL. QHY9 & EQ8. AIS120MM + OAG. Captures binned 2x2
Stars are a bit wonky due to a couple of bad subs, but didn't want to discard them as its difficult to get new data down here due to our very cloudy Melbourne winter this year..

Those cometary knots are excellent!
The 2x2 binning at your focal length helps.

Nice detail and appears quite smooth. RC14 captures a fair bit of light :)

Thanks M&T. Yes, the binning sure makes things brighter quicker.. even though its not properly implemented in the 8300 chip
Thanks Colin. The RC actually gives a noticeably brighter image for the same exposure time as in the older C14 that I was using. No corrector & possibly better coatings must help.
Thank you Greg. I've just ordered the SII & OIII filters so I'll be able to finish an image soon...
Cheers Rick..

Looking forward to what you finish up with though Maurice, the colour combine is always the tricky bit ;)

Great to see you imaging productively again Maurice (despite the cloudy winter). You've done well getting all that gear working like that.
