Has anyone else tried this firmware on your EOS camera(s)?

I fired it up last night, and event lets me record 1920x1080 video at 30fps. Alas, no sound for my model, though.

Not bad for an EOS 50D, which didn't have it out of the factory.

Some other quite interesting things unlocked as well. I suspect it would vary by make and model.

I know there is a big "BRICK ALERT" with this firmware, and wouldn't try it on a camera anywhere near warranty. At least if it breaks your camera, you get to keep both pieces! (Their quote).

Been using it for years on my 600D - mostly for the intervalometer function - no problems here.

I used it for years on my 5DmkII and If I still had a Canon I definitely be using it. Mainly just for the built in intervalometer and bulb timer, but the higher bit rate for video was really useful. Also the crop mode video was excellent for capturing planetary video.

If you use a build that's been around for a bit you should be fine, don't go installing the latest alpha versions ;)
