That was.... typical SNL. I think Peter Dinklage had the edge on Gwen Stefani there, too.
JJJ, I think you should strive... Go for the whole ensemble, including Space Tie! and Space Socks!

Women find it hard enough to be taken seriously in amateur astronomy.
I've been ignored in telescope shops, told I'm just a "groupie" when attending serious conferences, told my work is only published because I'm female (well, sometimes, being featured in an article on women in amateur astronomy was done because I'm female)
I don't think us wandering around the field just wearing paint and pasties would give us the sort of recognition we're looking for. :) Especially given that I'm in my mid 50's and old enough to be a granny.

Guys these are space pants, my daughter calls them galaxy pants and she has a matching dome tent lol. Kmart sell these from time to time.

I had expected that you might point out that your youthful good looks had somewhat faded; it's happened to me too. I also thought you might point out that you would freeze your butt off; to which I was going to suggest having a freezer suite painted on. But I hadn't expect the 'groupie' angle. Really?! You were called a groupie!! :eyepop: How very 18th Century. [Not to mention the bloke concerned having unbelievable tickets on himself.] I hope that this sort of attitude is restricted to a few ignoramuses and is dying out.
BTW for the first few seconds I thought that clip was an animation.

Your observations highlight attitudes that are Millenia out of date.

Thanks for that. :) I haven't been able to get Peter Dinklage singing "Space Pants" out of my head all day! :help:
Damn you JJJ. I've got Space Pants stuck in my head now, and keep having to come back here for a fix !!

I've downloaded it so I can play it again and again and again. My kids tear up every time they hear it. Not tears of joy I might add.
I haven't had an ear worm like this since that time I had Doris Day move into my head and sing "Deadwood Stage" 24/7 for at least a month. (that was Alison Becks fault that one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_xmujSyxkU

I'm not clicking that new link, in case I catch it too.
For me it was the Arnold Rimmer song in Red Dwarf. That stuck, and thinking about it now, I have to burst into song here in the office.

2 seasons of Red Dwarf!!
Equally exciting is the new Star Trek series and a possible new season of Black Adder. :)
