Folks,
This is an interesting region around Tarazed in Aquila, a bunch of dark nebulae and I was set onto a couple of them by MortonH - thanks Morton
I only ended up with an hour of data on this one, and the colour balance is really tricky...suggestions welcome :help: it's almost as if I had a red torch shining down the scope
Without further ado, Tarazed with Barnard dark nebulae 142 and 143.
Cheers,
Dunk

Love those dark nebulae. Nice one. Where's this one? Far from the snake?
Did a bit of correction with a mask in PS and Gradient X. Works well in PS. I'm sure Rick has a better method in PixInsight :)

Wow - that's interesting. Visually I see a capital E but in your image I see a curling seahorse holding a clamp.

Thanks Marc, on both counts  I'll have to give it a go in PS, although PI would be my preferred. Rick, are you there? Sorry I missed your advanced PI last Saturday ;)
The dark stuff starts about 1 degree north of Tarazed (gamma Aquilae), more towards the Milky Way.
Thanks Louie!
Thanks Morton! The eye sees what the eyes see.
Thanks Colin, yeah all those grains of sand make it a nightmare to process

That looks pretty good, Dunk, but you did miss the session where I explained how to set all the PI knobs to eleven
If you like, I'd be happy to have a go at your raw integrations with PI and post the result and notes on what I did. Probably can't do it for a week or two though due to work commitments (grumble grumble...)

Thanks Rick! Yeah I had to choose between understanding the meaning of life, the universe and everything or eternal bliss with PI ;)

Very nice Dunk - interesting object selection. Always love seeing these objects stand out against such a rich field of stars.

Thanks Pete! I guess they only really stand out against the star field, makes me wonder how much more dust is out there
