LOL and its in the middle of nowhere too.
yeah, you have to watch ebay items. they are preying on the lazy now i have noticed.
ie: "i want something so i'll just get it online... on ebay" some think ebay is the answer to all their online shopping and its going to be cheaper so they dont bother looking elsewhere

I see the one you mean Tony (your PS2 game). You've got the same 3 people bidding over and over again. Probably no idea what they are willing to pay. Good luck to you, I reckon it'll go higher still with the snipers sniping in the last minute.

I recently sold a bunch of old woodwork tools and the like on Ebay. Almost every item had a "Buy It Now" option on it. As soon as someone makes a bid however, the buy it now option is gone. Noone bought it now, and all the items went for more than double the buy it now price. All because someone wanted to get it even cheaper.

G'Day,
I sincerely hope you do the right thing and at least pay for the postage to the winning bidder, considering that your profit is at the moment over 100%

Its a crazy place, I have seen hundreds of things go for more than retail in the shops. From CDs to TVs.
I sold a book once, history of the melb fire brigade. Was $5 in one of those book sales, they had dozens of them big hard cover 300 pages lots of pics. Was pretty boring really. mainly old black and white photos.
Anyway 2 fiesty firemen went at it and it sold for $150.
Amazing, I guess it didnt sell first time or in the sale and most got pulped.
I cant figue out how many % profit that is lol.

G'Day,
Unfortunately there a lot of vulnerable people around, thats why we have laws in this country and others to try and protect them, from people like real estate agents and the like who buy a house or land for say $50,000 and sell it to some unsuspecting buyer for double or even more in some cases,we used to call those people "Sharks" but now there called "entrepreneurs", go figure

I reported much the same in this post (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=157184&postcount=1)not long ago. Bargains can still be had on ebay but they're few and far between these days.

Tony,
That monitor rules.
Here's mine: http://members.optusnet.com.au/octane2/IMG_2039.jpg
Runs at 1920x1200, native.
I bought it when it first came out in early 2005. I'm now pining for the 30".
That notebook (Dell Inspiron 9200) is still the only notebook on the market that offers 17" at 1920x1200 native, as well. It rules.

Humayun

Tony,
Is your WRT-54G version 2, with the customisable firmware? Mine's currently running HyperWRT. It is excellent.
We're more alike than you think: I'm also scopeless at the moment, with a G-11 and Gemini on order, and considering a 10" LX200R. :)

Very good point! You win some, you lose some.
I'm in 100% agreement with you Tony. Make the biggest profit while you can – reap the rewards. If the foolish buyers aren't savvy, then they should not be using the e-bay service in the first place. Simple. Sure a little harsh, but sometimes it takes such an event for people to learn from their mistakes. Perhaps next time they will shop around.

G'Day Tony,
Well I give it my best shot, I just thought that it would be a nice thing to do telling the winner of the Auction that your happy with the result and that you would pay for the postage, he would be happy, very happy I would imagine tell his family, friends and before you know it, by word of mouth maybe, just maybe, some integrity and honesty might spread not just on Ebay but in everyday life. Anyway I wish you "Bone appetite" with your free meal :P

G'Day Jase,
Spoken like a true Capitalist.
As a wise executive business man told me during a flight from Perth to Melbourne - "There are no friends in business". ;)

G'Day Jase,
It's a sad state of affairs, are you sure he was wise? reminds me what Don Vito Corleone said. "keep you friends close, and your enemy's even closer" but then he was also a crook :P

G'Day Rob,
How did you come to that conclusion?

Arthur,
Honestly if you had ever purchased anything of me I make sure you always get a great deal...I have looked after 10's of members here with sales where I have made a big loss.
I see where your coming from and support what your saying.
But when it come's to ebay it's out of my hands.
On my EBAY add I already stated for the buyer's to pay the $5 standard postage and I will pay the extra cost for Express postage.
I don't think anyone here can accuse Striker (Tony) of bad dealings when it comes to Buy/Sell/Trade.
I've delt with him on many occasions and he's been more than fair and a pleasure to deal with.
I think we'll leave this thread here.
Locking it now.
