hey guys.. got some piccies last night thanks to the Wollongong Ameture Astronomy Club.

i'll give you my website instead of posting the pics on here, so you can decide if you want to go them or not.

A Huge thank to Hans who let me borrow his LX200 12", to Joe the 'Director', Laurie, Andrew(i think?) and Geoff who all along for the ride of excitement!!!

I now have some very excited people who want to dabble into imaging with their scopes.

Unfortunately the scope didnt have either a wedge or eyepeice rotater, so there is some trailing in the images. But for a first attempt in deep space imaging I'm damn happy!!!!

working fine for me.

what browser are you using? I tried in both Mozilla Firefox 5.0 and Internet explorer 6.0.2. both work fine.
will get the other half to check if we had any downtime on the server as it is hosted remotely.

otherwise try to go to
photos.zethos.org

will display a directory of my pics

Nice one Rowena, they are great shots. I especially love the second shot, the widefield one of crux.

thanks. we were battling a rising moon on that photo. the guys at WAAC are now planning an imaging night once a month. I want to try some other tricks with that, because the photos where quite washed out, i had to change the brightness, contrast (i think) and color level in the photo you liked. they were taken at an awefully high ISO too.. so next week with Han's permission, I'm going to drop the ISO to around 400 and try a 2 min exposure and see how that goes. Also want to have a go at some other objects too. I want to also buy a 50mm lens with a f1.8 which means a lot less exposure time required as more light is let into the lens. The scope needs a wedge or eyepeice rotater unfortunately, but were going to try 30sec shots and stacking to see how that goes.

here is one i played with the brightness and contrast. it was pic 16 off my website. photo was quite dark but after playing with the brightness and contrast it has brought out the colours a lot more. this pic is only 45K but it seems to be pixelated when it was reduced.. the larger file is much better.

im quite surprised the amount of color i got out of the pic myself.
