Hi louie, yes it does look similar it has been called the southern ring neb, but this is a southern object so its better :-))
I think I have over processed this a bit so I plan on redoing the processing to see if I can improve the image.
Louie did you ever sell your Tac?
and do you still have the HEQ5 ?

Still got both ay, time you started putting a camera on the end of them and take some pictures,:D

Yes Dave I have been putting an ST7 on the end of my FS102 mounted on a GPDX skysenser PC but you know there's a steep learning curve on imaging.
I will put some images up when I am happy with them !

You should get some nice stuff with the FS102 and ST7

I must say I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with your gear in NZ David. Crystal clear skies, low light pollution, our southern skies directly overhead.
