I was browsing my observing lists in SkyTools 3 Professional Edition and came across the Open Cluster Westerlund 1 in Ara and fitted an Astronomik ProPlanet 807 IR-pass filter in the filter wheel to compare an LRGB series with an L-IR807-GB series.

http://www.astronomik.com/en/photographic-filters/proplanet-807-filter.html

I captured 10 subframes at 60 secs for each of the 5 filters and used CCDStack to calibrate, align and stack the frames. These are more or less straight out of the ST2000XM with minimal processing in CS6.

I also made a lo-res animation for an interesting comparison.

Interesting Dennis! I've often been tempted to have a go at this one myself but have never got round to it.

Thanks Steve, this is one of the brighter and easier “of the off the beaten track” objects.
