I have noticed for a few non-DSLR cameras that you can get adapters to use EOS lenses on them, e.g. http://www.bintel.com.au/Astrophotography/Camera-Adapters---T-Rings/ZWO-T2-to-EOS-Adapter/2144/productview.aspx

Are these really just for the colour cameras or is there a way to use filters with them as well for the mono cameras? I assume they're made such that you connect camera -> adapter -> lens and get the right focus length? Is there some kind of filter holder that can sit inside the adapter?

The description on the TS site mentions an m48 thread for filters (looks like you can screw filters inside):
http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p8739_ZWO-Adapter-for-Canon-EOS-lenses-to-ASI-cameras.html

Also, if you click the "Q&A" tab on this page there is some discussion regarding using filters with it:

Thanks for that - very useful.

So I wandered around that site and saw this: http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p6991_TS-CCD-Adapter-for-Canon-EOS-lenses-to-T2---only-10-mm-length.html

It even mentions using filter wheels, etc.

Well, this has opened up some new possibilities for me to consider.
