Hi all,
I am looking into having a custom wedge made up and was wondering if there are any criteria that need to be taken into account in relation to the size and dimensions of the plates and body.
The main point that I have noticed with commercial models is that when the telescope fork is angled back off the tilt plate the OTA body where it connects to the support fork is positioned over the centre of the pier or tripod, no doubt to centre the point of balance. I assume that this would be an essential criteria.
If anyone knows of any other points of note that should be taken into account or has made their own custom wedge, I would love to hear you.
cheers
