An Ethernet RJ45 patch lead (not a cross-over cable) will work.

Yep, that works fine David, that is what I did with my EQ6, added a standard Cat5 cable with a joiner to connect the two cables.

Yep, it works fine. I always keep a patch lead in my accessory case, in case the SkyWatcher curly cord breaks one day.

I'm sure I made you one a few astrofests ago, perhaps for the EQ6 but I think I made you a long cat5 cable and an adapter to use with the EQ6....:confuse3:

Dave I use a 10m one it works fine even after years in and out of the Sun.

I changed my far too short supplied curly cable with a 1m modem/router cable. A lot easier to use :thumbsup:
