I have no need for this excellent camera any more as the Sony A7S now functions as my backup, so I am selling this camera, a Tamron lens and accessories to help fund my astrophotography.
*NOTE* There is a problem with the shutter on this camera, and it is not currently functional. To get it to work you will need to have it repaired. Given how many photos I have taken with this camera it's likely the shutter simply reached the end of its life cycle. Shutter mechanism repairs/replacements are routine and you should have no problem finding someone who can fix it for you. I am pricing this kit with the fact that you will need to pay for a repair in mind.
This lot includes:
- Canon 5D MkII & original box
- Tamron 24-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens
- Third party battery grip
- 1x original Canon battery
- 1x third party battery
- Canon battery charger
The 5D2 is an outstanding full frame camera, even today years after its original release. Most photos I took from 2009 to 2013 were taken with this camera and most of those were taken with the Tamron 24-135mm attached. This is a professional grade camera which has seen a lot of work but has been well cared for and is still in good condition. There is a small scratch on the rear LCD which does not affect operation. The Tamron's rubber grip ring has come loose but a few dabs of glue should secure it. There is some minor dust and dirt on all of the items but nothing which affects performance.
Even today the camera has kept a high value, and though a repair is needed, with the lens and grip included this is an excellent price. I am willing to negotiate but I believe this is a fair asking price.
