I am putting together a narrowband image of the Eagle and this is what I have so far for Ha. I only took 4 out of about 13 subs as the first night seemed to be more mon affected and these not at all. I plan on taking some more exposure time for this over the next few nights (supposed to be clear). But its amazing how quickly the scope and camera get a decent image out on these brighter objects.
I used 20 minute subs and dithering to reduce noise.
I also used -35C and the low noise option on the FLI camera. All done now in the SkyX. Its pretty clean considering no noise reduction and only 80 minutes of exposure. The joys of F3.8 305mm aperture imaging. In fact the O111 subs were all badly burnt out at 20 minutes and 2x2 binning (they are in fact going into the bin :)).
which is convenient which is now quite mature. I was pleased about the dithering as it got rid of the column defects well and there were no little black specks in the background that I usually have to Photoshop out. Not sure what causes those specks, I only see them in Ha images.
