Sunspots Jul 16th.

July 16th. After weeks of clouds/rain I finally got a sunny day today. Some nice sunspots. Single exposure thru a WO 81 mm refractor with Baader Herschel wedge (540nm) and Canon 550d camera. 1/200 sec x 200 iso.
Added: This mornings shot thru a Halpha solar scope of this region (orange pic) - single exposure has been added as a comparison.Thanks for viewing.

Yes, very nice captures John. You must have been capturing these images at about the same time as I was observing the spots yesterday. The sunspot activity looks exactly as I had seen it through a 120mm refractor with a simple Baadar solar film filter. I could not see the depth of mottling across the sun's surface that you have captured.
