Now that I have got my STXL going again I decided to pick up a bit more data on this object to finish it off. Luckily the data I had before was ok to use and with the new data that I added I think the image looks pretty good now.

That's really good Paul! Excellent detail and illumination. So tiny yet I couldn't stop staring at it.
Well done!

That is terrific. I too think it looks 3D somehow.

Thanks Rod. It is a tiny object at this image scale. I am very happy with the detail level obtained though.
Thanks guys. The combination of the Ha and OIII really gives that 3D look on this particular object. I have seen a few images with SII added and I don't think the SII helps to contribute to that look.
Thanks Bill. This is a crop which discarded nearly 65% of the whole frame. Had I kept that in it would have looked even lonelier. If I get around to getting a larger scope with a lot more focal length, I will have to try doing this object again.

For such a small object it has turned out really well Paul! Maybe something for Mike and Trish with their 20" until you go bigger :)

Excellent image Paul. Razor sharp. The centre dust lane is perfectly exposed.

An impressive image Paul! Nicely done. Is that a full res crop?

Thanks Greg. Very much appreciated. I have always liked the colouring of the Hubble shot of this, and I modelled my image on that colour scheme.
It is a very tiny object with 2.4m focal length. I definitely needs more. And; if you take a look at MnT's website they have posted one of this around the first time I posted my image. You may want to take a look. Both are very different.
Thanks MnT. I reckon there is more to be grabbed out of this object but I will need additional data. I won't get to that now. Your image shows a bit more detail in the central region.
Thanks Marcus. Yeah it is a crop at 100% res. Might give you an idea how much bigger it will appear with your image scale.

Certainly looks good to me Paul. That's a nice NGC 6302 with razor sharp detail. Dare I say though perhaps a tad more saturation?
Cheers
