Buying equipment in New Zealand?

I was wondering if it's worth while for Australian amateurs to buy used equipment from New Zealand. Once you account for shipping, exchange, duties, and taxes, is it worth it?

It's no different to buying from anywhere else overseas, just depends if the price is right once you've accounted for those extra charges.
