Hi all,does anyone know where I can get a copy of building a low cost telescope by eric witcombe or does anybody have a copy of that book.I remember reading it back in high school in the late 70"s and it got me going in Astronomy.Cheers Nick.

Nick - if you can't find a copy I'll PDF it for you using my phone- not as good as the real thing but if you cant get a copy. There were two printings- the first a darker navy blue cover and the later printing a light blue turquoise , though the content was the same . Most of the content is of course much better covered in hundreds of web articles on the WWW , but it has a great nostalgic value !

Thanks Mark for the offer and will definitely keep it in mind.Might be getting close to securing an original copy from another member here in ice inspace.

Ok , just FYI - the light blue copy I was thinking of is the first 1973 edition , and the green edition is the second edition from 1979. Got my blue edition with a mirror grinding kit purchased 1974.

I would like to make comparison but my blue edition has been lent out some time in the past, only now have the green .

Just a tidbit : This was republished just before the sale of Amateur Astronomers Supply Co and the rebadging of the business as Astro Optical Supplies for sale as my March 1979 receipt for a C8 shows the AOS letterhead .
