Guys, I haven't been posting TCH openings for the past 6-9 months. The weather just went from bad to awful and back again every time there was a new moon. At least it felt that way.

But at the risk of another cloudy New Moon weekend, I'm determined to give it another try in July. So if you want to test your winter woolies or fine tune your Astrofest gear, this may be the last chance.

For those with an interest in getting even further away from it all, I have fenced off prepared a hectare on the crown of the hill at the front of my place and built a skillion roof shelter and a hybrid wind/solar power system which can supply up to 600 watts of very clean 240 VAC power for those needing it. Great place to park a caravan or camper beside your scope. It's a great site with clear panoramic views to all horizons.

Of course the TCH observatory field is still running so you have choices.

Let me know if you are silly enough to try again.

Here's some photos of the east and west aspects plus one of the shelter with east view and one showing the wind/solar system with little power station building.

Peter,

Would love to come up but have prodigal son #2's birthday that weekend so expect to be paying for fatted calf at a stupidly expensive restaurant instead. I'm also off to the US a couple of day later for work. Good luck with the weather!

Cheers,
Rick.

Logan, TenChain Hill is my home/farm/observatory which is roughly 1441 kms north of you. Probably a bit far for a night of clear skies.

Glad to hear you're back in business Peter. Looks like some serious works have happened. I've headed up to Leyburn this evening.
