Hi folks,
If anyone lives or is in the Hervey Bay area and wants to enjoy unobstructed views of the event while overlooking the Great Sandy Straight and Fraser Island, then you are most welcome to join us at the River Heads stargazers usual viewing site on Thursday.
If so please PM me or Ph: 07-41258006.
Lets hope for clean air and a great time wherever we are.
Cheers,
Steve.

Well after 2 1/2 hours of big flashes and bangs and an inch of much needed rain the power has come back on for this part of the Hervey Bay area.
Our small band of transit fans can only hope for clear, crisp morning skies tomorow as the rain is falling from a high altitude across a broad area judging from BOM radars. But then the cloud will most likely hang around going by the barometer.
Heres hoping the sun isnt too bright! We might be better off with a little haze for visual observing and are only shooting afocal with non-specialised gear.
Its a lottery.
Good luck to everyone at your locations.

The Hervey Bay Stargazers transit turnout was a bit qiuet on account of the weather, but there were enough of us to take advantage of the sun clearing the cloud at 6.40am and started viewing, projecting and afocally imaging the event.
Here are a few of our images, we know they aren't very good compared to what some of you guys can do but we had such a lot of fun trying to get them and we learnt a few things, like a couple of us now want to get into the art.:P

Nice work Steve, we had a little bit of rain, wind, clouds, but not blue skies like you got! Nice results
