Not bad, David, must get the DSI out myself. Dust lanes are clearly evident.

You might want to check your collimation, most of the brighter stars have a small pointy tail below each star. This is 90 degrees to the field rotation. Focus is just a little out, but other than that, this is a fine shot. Keep them coming, youv'e given me some inspiration.

Hi Paul, Thanks I think it turned out ok, The tube had not cooled when I did this so the pointy tail is a hot mirror later shots don't show this but this was the best image I did of 5128 last night, I checked collmination throughout the night and it does change slighty as the mirror cools.
The apparent field rotation was my fault I used the wrong spacer distance between the DSI and the F3.3 reducer, with the right distance between them there is no field rotation or coma as in this case I found this out later last night also. There is also a little bit of star trailing in this as well, the mount wasn't tracking as well as normal
I find like the LPI, the DSI is easy to use, the problems start when it's time to do the processing, still so much to learn :-))

David.

Nice 5128 ! went hunting for it on our obs night on Sat .
Found it just, we suffered a lot of high clouds on Sat, but still a good night out.

Nice detail in that shot David! I had a good look at Centaurus A last night and again tonight through my scope. It is such an interesting object to try to unpackage visually. Nice to see some more detail than usual.

That's excellent David! Great shot! Nice to see some more DSO's posted here and the DSI sounds like a convenient little tool for it.

Very nice.. Seems like your winning the battle with the DSI.
Auto-guiding with Star-Mate I hope!
Cheers

Thanks Robby Sorry I haven't been using the Star-Mate, infact all these images have been unguided,

David.
